This Is Not a Government Office. South Carolina Court Records is a private reference site. We cannot pull official documents, file court papers, resolve warrants, or issue certified copies. Those services must come from the South Carolina court, county office, or state agency that holds the record.
Need an Official Document?
Local South Carolina files must be requested from their actual custodians. Use the county directory to reach a specific Clerk of Court for Circuit or Family matters, Probate Court for estates and marriage licenses, Magistrate or Municipal Court for summary cases, or sheriff for jail and warrant information. Statewide agency systems cover different records:
- Court and local records: open the county directory and select the county connected to the case, arrest, license, or estate.
- State criminal history: use SLED CATCH for its paid name-based South Carolina report.
- State prison custody: use the South Carolina Department of Corrections inmate search; county jails are separate.
- Driving history: request an authorized record through the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.
- State vital records: use South Carolina DPH Vital Records for eligible marriage-certificate and divorce-report products.
- Sex-offender registry: use the official SLED registry for public searches and notifications.
